WHO CAN PARTICIPATE

EMMA Target beneficiaries

The target beneficiaries of EMMA are:

  • Target 1: Students and academic staff registered in one of the universities members of the partnership [TG1]
  • Target 2: nationals of one of the countries of the partnership  registered at a Higher Education Institution NOT included in the partnership or having obtained a degree or equivalent from an Institution in their country (which may be a partner or not). This includes the possibility of providing mobility opportunities to nationals of the countries of the partnership who are working in public administration and public and private enterprises.[TG2]
  • Target 3: Asians of the countries of the partnership in vulnerable situations [TG3]. It may cover mobility for students holding the respective nationality and:
    • Having a refugee status or asylum beneficiaries (international or according to the national legislation of one of the European recipient countries), or
    • Being able to prove that they have been the object of unjustified expulsion from university on racial, ethnic, religious, political, gender or sexual inclination reasons, or
    • Belonging to an indigenous population targeted by a specific national policy.

 

Asian EMMA beneficiaries:

  • You are preparing a Bachelor/Undergraduate degree in one the Asian Partner University [APU]:
    You may get full support to spend one semester (6 months [U6]) or one academic year (10 Months [U10]) in an European Partner University [EPU] as an exchange student and get your degree from your home university.
  • You are preparing a Master degree in one the Asian Partner University :
    You may get full support to spend one semester (6 months [M6]) or one academic year (11 months [M11]) in an EPU as an exchange student and get your degree from your home university and, in some cases,  from your host University too.
  • You already get a Master degree from an Asian University and want to prepare a Doctorate :
    You may get full support to spend 36 months in one the EPU and get your degree from your host university.
  • You are preparing a Doctorate (PhD) in one the Asian Partner University :
    You may get full support to spend 18 months [D18] in an EPU as an exchange student (cotutelle/sandwich) and get your degree from your home university and, in some cases,  from your host University too.
  • You already get a Doctorate/PhD from one APU and want to have a new experience doing research:
    You may get full support to spend 6 months [P6] in one of the EPU universities laboratory for a Postdoc.
  • You are staff-member of one of the Asian Partner University:
    You may get full support to spend one month [S1] in one APU to develop cooperation through exchanges of students and satffs between your home and host Universities.

European EMMA beneficiaries:

  • You are preparing a Bachelor degree in one the European Partner University (EPU) :
    You may get full support to spend one semester (6 months [U6]) or one academic year (10 Months [U10]) in an Asian Partner University (APU) as an exchange student and get your degree from your home university
  • You are preparing a Master degree in one the European Partner University :
    You may get full support to spend one semester (6 months [M6]) or one academic year (11 months [M11]) in an APU as an exchange student and get your degree from your home university.
  • You are preparing a Doctorate (PhD) in one the European Partner University :
    You may get full support to spend 6 months [D6] in an EPU as an exchange student (cotutelle/sandwich) and get your degree from your home university and, in some cases,  from your host University too.
  • You already get a Doctorate (PhD) from one EPU and want to have a new experience doing research:
    You may get full support to spend 6 months [D6] in one of the APU universities laboratory for a Postdoc.
  • You are staff-member of one of the European Partner University:
    You may get full support to spend one [S1], two [S2] or three [S3] months in one APU to develop cooperation through exchanges of students and staffs between your home and host Universities.

Restrictions

The following restrictions apply:

  • In order to be an elegible Asian candidate, you must have not resided nor have carried out your main activity (studies, work, etc) for more than a total of 12 months over the last five years in one of the European countries.
  • No student, and no academic staff member can benefit from more than one mobility activity within the same project.
  • No mobility flows for Asian student and staff between institutions in the Asian countries of the partnership are eligible.
  • No mobility flows for European student and staff between institutions in the European countries of the partnership are eligible.
